Checklist for Product Setup

Before you upload your Products, check out the steps below to help you define and organize your Product List:

1. Map out general ledger accounts. This is necessary so that your sales, purchases, and expenses hit the correct financial accounts. For more, click here. 

2. Decide if you are going to use use Product Categories. This is recommended if you have multiple types of products, such as Metal, Paper, or Plastics. For more, click here.

3. If you are using Product Categories, decide if you are going to further segment your products by groups. This is recommended if you have numerous types of products under each Product Category. For example, under Product Category Plastics, you might have HDPE, PET, and LDPE as Product Groups. For more, click here. 

Now you are ready to either upload your Product List via an excel template or manually from the Product tab.
