What is the difference between Product Groups and Categories?

Users can set up Product Categories and Product Groups to further define your products. This will also be used to segment data for reporting purposes or to search on inquiries throughout the system.

A  Product Category represents the general type of commodity, such as Paper, Plastic, or Metal. A Product Group is created within a Category to further define the commodity type. For example, Kraft would be a Group within the Paper Category.

To set these up, go to More Settings > Common Information > Product Categories / Product Groups.
