Setting Up Product Categories and Groups
cieTrade allows users to further define their Products based on custom classifications by creating Product Categories and Groups. Product Categories can be defined to represent a general type of commodity, such as paper, newsprint, or plastic. Product Groups can be used to further segment or represent products within each of your product categories. Both of these labels are created in Settings, and applied on the Product level. These classifications are employed solely for reporting purposes, granting clients the ability to organize how data appears on the following reports by these types.
NOTE: Users cannot create Product Groups without Product Categories to assign it to. Categories have a parent-child relationship with Product Groups, where they are the parent and groups are the child.
How to Add or Edit Product Categories

- Click Add New at the bottom of the page and enter your information.
- Save the settings to add a new product category.
- To delete a product category, place your mouse over the line you wish to delete and click the red X that appears to the right of the line
How to Add or Edit Product Groups
