Scrap Metal Receiving

cieTrade has a special scrap metal module built for scrap yards. This inventory mode allows you to receive material throughout the month, and ship other grades, reconciling at the end of the month for your COGS. 

Here is a main scrap yard management overview, with all associated helpfiles. Before Receiving inventory, please review the Set up help file. 

There are two ways to receive inventory, which will depend if the transaction is for public trade (Peddler Business) or Industrial/Commercial accounts (tied to an order or index pricing). For reporting purposes, any inventory recieved other than your designated finished good class, will be considered WIP.

Both ways will increase your inventory levels, allow you to generate settlement statements or pay your suppliers cash on delivery. Once the inventory has been posted, you can start tracking the weight on hand through the yard inventory reports.
