Inventory Management and Reporting
cieTrade.net offers several inquiries and reports for the management of your lot-based inventory. The Inventory Manager, Available Inventory Inquiry, and Inventory Overview are available from within the Inventory tab of the left window pane and offer quick insight into the turnover of product lots in your warehouse(s). Additionally, several reports will aid in the successful management of Inventory purchases and sales. These reports can be found in the main Reports menu and are discussed further below.
Managing Inventory
Inventory Manager
The Inventory Manager is a tool that allows you to view all available and uncommitted products. Once a product has been placed into inventory, it will appear under this management tool. Alternatively, if products are shipped out, they cease to appear here, unless you search by the Depleted inventory filter.
The Inventory Manager can be found under the Inventory tab in the left window pane.
The reporting filters give you the flexibility to search for a product using multiple attributes. You can manipulate the report by selecting a Product/Grade, searching within a specific Date Range, searching by the Buyer/Sales Representative, or even searching by one or more Paper-Stock Properties of a particular roll of paper.
To run the report, click GO in the upper left corner of the screen.
The Item No. column in the Inventory Manager displays a product's Receiving number, followed by a '-1', '-2', etc. For example, Item No. 231016-2 would be the second product listed on Inventory Receiving Worksheet #231016.
Available Inventory
The Inventory Available inquiry provides a snapshot of the products that are available to sell and their unit cost. Products are defined by a combination of grade and packaging types. The inventory reported is consolidated or "rolled-up" based on product and packaging type. This inquiry also displays Committed inventory to provide a true picture of availability.
An important feature of this report is the product drill-down. By clicking on a listed product, such as Bond White, all products defined by the grade "Bond White" will be displayed.
Available Reports
Inventory Valuation
The Inventory Valuation Report can be found by navigating to Reports > Inventory > Inventory Valuation.
This report will show all on-hand inventory items based on the selected As Of Date. Each available inventory item will be displayed, along with an Item #, the original Rcv-Wks# (the Receiving Worksheet the material came into the warehouse on), the Post-Date, Unit Cost, Quantity available, and Value. The final value of each item is calculated as a landed cost, including any expenses.
For example, if a received item has a value of $2,000 and an associated $100 freight expense, the actual value reported would be $2,100.
Inventory Sales
The Inventory Sales Report can be found by navigating to Reports > Inventory > Inventory Sales.
This report provides a listing of all inventory sales activity for a user-specified time period. This report can be run for all Warehouses or for each Warehouse individually.
Inventory Purchases
The Inventory Purchases Report can be found by navigating to Reports > Inventory > Inventory Purchases.
This report provides a listing of all inventory purchase activity for a user-specified time period. This report can be run for all Warehouses or for a specific Warehouse.
Inventory Roll-Forward
The Inventory Roll Forward Report produces a statement of changes in inventory value over a user-specified period.
This report is intended to be a backup to the inventory accrual that shows at the bottom of the Closing Adjustments Report.
