Inventory Management and Reporting

Managing Inventory

cieTrade.net offers several inquiries and reports for the management of your lot-based inventory. The Inventory Manager, Available Inventory Inquiry, and Inventory Overview are available from within the Inventory tab of the left window pane and offer quick insight into the turnover of product lots in your warehouse(s). Additionally, several reports will aid in the successful management of Inventory purchases and sales. These reports can be found in the main Reports menu and are discussed further below.

Inventory Manager

The  Inventory Manager is a tool that allows you to view all available and uncommitted products. Once a product has been placed into inventory, it will appear under this management tool. Alternatively, if products are shipped out, they cease to appear here, unless you search by the Depleted inventory filter.  This report can be found under the Inventory tab in the left window pane.

The reporting filters give you the flexibility to search for a product using multiple attributes. You can manipulate the report by selecting a Product/Grade, searching within a specific Date Range, the Warehouse and Location, the Buyer/Sales Representative, the Inventory Class, a Supplier, a Department, a Buyer, a Condition, or even searching by one or more Paper-Stock Properties or Plastic Properties of a particular roll of paper. You also have the ability to include or exclude Depleted Inventory and Reserved Inventory

To run the report, click  GO in the upper left corner of the screen.

The Item No. column in the Inventory Manager displays a product's Receiving number, followed by a '-1', '-2', etc. For example, Item No. 231016-2 would be the second product listed on Inventory Receiving Worksheet #231016.

The Inventory Manager also offers several features in the top row after an inventory item(s) had been checked off.

Split Inventory

  1. To split serial inventory into multiple items, click the checkbox on the desired item and select Split Inventory on the top row.
  2. A window will open up where you can enter the New Split Quantity and New Split Units. This will deduct from the original quantity of the origin item.
  3. Click Apply.

Batch Edits

  1. To make batch edits to inventory items, check off the desired items and select Batch Edit on the top row.
  2. Check off the features you would like to change about the selected inventory. You have the option to edit the Warehouse, the Grade/Product, and the Location within a warehouse.
  3. Click Apply

Print Labels

  1. To print labels of inventory items, check off the desired items and select Print Labels on the top row.
  2. A PDF will open up in a second tab with the selected inventory item's label, which can be printed, downloaded, etc.

Available Inventory

The  Inventory Available report provides a snapshot of the products that are available to sell and their unit cost. Products are defined by a combination of grade and packaging types. The inventory reported is consolidated or "rolled-up" based on product and packaging type. This inquiry also displays Committed inventory to provide a true picture of availability.

The Inventory Available inquiry can be filtered by Warehouse, Department, and Product. It can be toggled to display in different UOM

An important feature of this report is the product drill-down. By clicking on a listed product, such as Bond White, all products defined by the grade "Bond White" will be displayed.

Additionally, the Inventory Available Inquiry can be toggled to display several other features. To access these features click on " Inventory Available" at the top of the screen.
