Barcode Scanning in cieTrade

cieTrade allows you to seamlessly connect your barcode scanners to the software in order to label, track, and ship inventory with ease. If you need help selecting equipment for purchase, you can review our suggestions here. 

To Set Up Barcoding:

Navigate to your Settings> Inventory, and check off Enable Barcode Scanning. You are all set!

Where You Can Print Barcodes In the System:

There are a few areas where users can print barcodes to apply to inventory items.

1) Unloading Slip via the Warehouse module.

1. You can click on the individual barcode icon to open another tab in your browser to print.
2. You can click Print Labels at the top to print all labels for all items at once.

2) Converting Job via the Warehouse module.

a. On the output section of the newly created items, once you have entered the grade and weight the Print Label button will appear.

3) Converting Job via the Inventory module.

a. On a converting job, you can print them from the view screen in the  Output section by clicking on the barcode icon.

b. Using the More Actions drop down you can print all of the labels on the converting job at once.

4) Inventory Item page.

a. Anywhere in the system you can use a blue hyperlinked item number to navigate to the Inventory Item page. Clicking on the barcode icon will open up a separate window where you can print the barcode.

Where To Scan Barcodes and Generate Pick Lists:

1. Converting Job Input section via the Warehouse module.  
1. To scan barcodes for feedstock, click Barcode Scan and put your cursor in the field. You can now batch scan all of the labels and click Apply to generate the picked list.

2. Packing via the Warehouse module. 

a. Select the  Barcode button and the window will pop up for you to batch scan the labels into.  Clicking Apply will bring those item numbers onto your Picked Items list.

3. Shipping via the Inventory module.

a. To build a packing list on the Shipping worksheet hover over the grade line and click on the three dots that are revealed at the end. Choose Barcode Scan to open the window and begin scanning.  Within this window you can use the Apply to Sales Item drop down to toggle between the items you are selling and apply the barcode scans to each grade.
