Creating a Physical Cycle Count & Sending it to cieLocation

This article will take you through the steps to complete a Physical Cycle Count in cieTrade.net, using the cieLocation app. If you would more information about cieLocation, or getting setup, you can view our helpfile here.

Setup:

How to enable the Physical Cycle Count tools:

  1. Under Settings > Inventory > check Enable Physical Inventory Check.

NOTE: If you want users to be locked into specific warehouses, make sure their user has been locked. This can be done within  Settings > Users & Roles > select the User.

Navigating to the Module:

  1. To find this module, navigate to Reports > InventoryStock Count Inquiry.

Navigating the Inquiry:

There are two pages in this module, the Job Setup, and Report. The Job Setup is where you can create new physical jobs or look over existing ones. The Report is where you can view the result of completed jobs.

Creating a New Physical Job:

From the Job Setup page:

  1. Click + New Physical Job.
  2. Select the Warehouse the job is taking place in. Recording the specific warehouse location is optional.
  3. Record the Date the job will take place on.
  4. Enter a short Description of the job for your records.
  5. Save the new Job in OPEN status.

The Physical Stock Count job has now been created and is awaiting further action in cieLocation.

View Results on the Inventory Stock Count Report:

Navigate to Reports > Inventory > Inventory Stock Count to view the results of your warehouse floor count.

  1. Click on the Report tab.
  2. Select a Physical Inventory Job# from the drop down.  The Warehouse and Location (if you set a location on the original job) will populate automatically.
  3. Check off 'Include Uncounted Items at this location' to see anything that was supposed to be at a specific warehouse location but wasn't confirmed on cieLocation.
  4. Once you choose a job the results will populate in the inquiry.  Counted items are confirmed on the floor and/or at the correct location.  Uncounted items are missing from that location or are missing from that warehouse.
  5. You can use the Export As option to export a file from the system, and use this to reconcile your inventory in cieTrade.
