How to define your own packaging type attributes

The Packaging Attributes are a useful set of fields to further define your product, dependent on the packaging type you select. There are several predefined attribute sets such as Plastics, Roll, Sheets, and Lumber, but if you need different ways to describe the products, then cieTrade offers a User Defined set of attributes. Follow the steps below to set them up and use them.

Setting up the attribute fields:

1. Navigate to Settings> Preferences> User Defined Fields. You will see a few options. We will be using the 'Product Detail' section.

2. click on the pen and notepad icon to the right of the line. This will pop open another window where you can create the Label (field name) and the drop down values (field value)

3. Enter the drop down value then click the downward arrow to save it. To remove an existing value, click on it in the list and click the X button.

4. Once you have the field and the values, click on the Save button.

5.Now go to Settings> Common Information> Packaging Types. This is where you are going to set the Packaging type to reference these fields.

6. Enter the name of the packaging type you want to see in the drop down on a grade/product line. This will be how you trigger the new user defined fields to show.

7. Now when you are on an Order or Worksheet, and select that packaging type (IE TRAILER) you will now see the set of User Defined attributes you set up.
