Overview of Inland Freight
Inland freight rates can be stored in cieTrade, then applied to future transactions. This is great for companies that have a standing contract with freight companies.
Users can store inland freight rates in cieTrade.net to pull onto Brokerage and Shipping worksheets.
Storing Inland Freight Rates
1. Start by clicking Freight on the left-hand side menu> Inland Freight> +New Rate

2) Select a Freight Carrier. This list of counterparties is restricted to Counterparties that are set to or include 'Freight Vendor' relationships.
3) The Reference field is required and is a writable field. This is how the Freight Rate will be referenced on a Worksheet to apply the rate.
4) The Effective Date field is the date that this freight rate starts. The Expiry Date is the date that it will expire or longer be applicable.
5) Under Pick up From, enter the City, Region, Postal Code, and Country. This is the initial starting point for the truck.
6) Under Deliver To, enter the City, Region, Postal Code, and Country. This is the destination of the truck.
7) The Equipment Type is populated from Settings>Common Information> Equipment Types
8) The Milage is the number of miles between the Pick up from to the Deliver to address.
9) The Base Rate is multiplied by the Milage plus the Surcharge to generate a total Amount. You can either enter the separate fields for cieTrade to calculate, or you can just enter the Amount manually.
10) The Instructions are for the freight company and will appear on required documentation.
11) Click Save.
Applying Stored Freight Rates
1) On a Brokerage or Shipping Worksheet, under Expenses, click + Add Freight.
2) The Customer and Supplier City, State, and Postal Code will automatically be pulled in. Or you can clear them out and search for all Freight Rates by clicking Search.

3) Apply the correct freight rate by clicking on it.
4) It will pull onto the Worksheet as an expense. If you need to edit it to change the rate, expense account, or enter a chargeback, click on the expense line on the Worksheet.
5) Click Save on the Worksheet. The Freight will now create an expense on the Expense tab of the Worksheet.
