Using Credit Limits

cieTrade.net can track Credit Limits for your Customers when the AR module is turned on.

To enable:

1. Go to Settings> Preferences> Credit

2. Check 'Show warning when credit exceeded'

To use:

1. On the Counterparty form, enter a credit limit.

2. Click Save

NOTE: if the credit amount is left blank or is set to 0, then then there will be no credit check for this counterparty. If you want to have to approve it per order or have NO credit limit set, then you can enter 0.01.

Once you set credit limits you can decide whether you would like the system to give you a hard stop or just a warning if a transaction exceeds the credit limit. In order to select the desired setting go to Settings>Preferences>Credit.

Select the desired setting and click "Save Setting." NOTE: The hard stop will only occur when a worksheet that exceeds the credit limit is in any status other than work.

3. To bypass the hard stop setting:

Under Settings> Users & Roles> Roles, check 'Enable Override Credit Check'. This will now only show a credit exceeded warning but will allow the user to put the worksheet into Completed, Approved or Invoiced status.

Checking Customer Limits:

1. Go to Reports> Credit Limits

2. You can use the At or Above field to search for customers who are approaching or are above their credit limit.
