AES Direct Documentation
cieTrade.net supports direct posting from a Worksheet in the system. In order to use this feature, you will need to have an existing AES filing account. If you want to look at each feild on the filing page,
Before you get started:
- You must have an AES filing account
- To populate the Carrier field on the AES website, you must enter a Scat code on the Ocean carrier Counterparty form.
To begin, create an Inventory Shipping worksheet.
1. On the Shipping Worksheet, click More Actions> AES. This will launch AES Direct in another tab.
2. Data, based on selected Worksheet Number is passed from cieTrade.net to AES Direct application Such as Shipment Ref No, Transportation Ref No, Departure Date, Containers, etc.). The Departure Date is required.
NOTE: you can go through the tabs and edit the information.
3. Open a new tab and reach the Url: https://ace.cbp.dhs.gov/aesd/ta/aes-direct/secured/createWeblinkFiling. After the successfully log in go back to
4. Click Post AES Direct Data once you have reviewed and corrected all of the information. This will open a new tab, where you will see the submitted data has prefilled corresponding fields.
5. Verify the data in each tab and click Submit Filing.
6. If your filing is accepted by CBP, you will receive a confirmation message. A successful filing will have the status of 'Filing' and will include the ITN number.
cieTrade will note in the worksheet log each time that it is sent to AES.
