Exporting Counterparties from Existing Accounting Software

This help file describes how to export Customer and Vendors from your existing accounting software.

NOTE: In order to correctly populate your new cieTrade account with the counterparty name and addresses, it is important to supply the Support Team with the address broken into 5 fields (Address 1, Address 2, City, Country, Zip code).

QuickBooks Online

1.  Sign into your QuickBooks online account.

2.  Click Sales > Customers.

3.  Click on the Export icon.

4.  Save the file with your company name and whether its Customers or Suppliers.

5.  Repeat with the Supplier side: Expenses > Vendors > Export.

QuickBooks Desktop

1.  Sign into your QuickBooks Desktop account.

2.  Click on Customer.

3.  Click the Excel drop-down menu and select ' Export Customer List'.

4.  Select ' Create a new worksheet'.

5.  Save the file with your company name and whether its Customers or Suppliers.

6.  Repeat with the Supplier side: VendorsExport Vendor List.

NOTE: If you are exporting from QB Desktop, please make sure that the following column headers correspond with the correct information:

Bill to 1 - Company name

Bill to 2 - street number and name

Bill to 3 - suite or apartment number

Bill to 4 - City

Bill to 5 - State/region

Xero Accounting

1.  Sign into your Xero online account.

2.  Click on Contacts > All contacts.

3.  Click Export.
