Setting up Document Numbers

By default, cieTrade will assign your orders and worksheets a unique identification number upon them being saved. If you would like to change the out-of-the-box numbering convention of your orders and worksheets, you do have that ability.

WARNING: You should only set up document numbers in a new database or with the help of the support team. cieTrade validates and creates sequences on the first number below. Therefore, if there is a duplicate in the system, cieTrade will give you an error message.

To change the numbering convention of your orders/worksheets:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Preferences > Document Numbers.
  2. The different numbers that appear are for the different modules in the system. To update one, simply enter the new starting number for that item into the associated field.

Please Note: The numbers that appear within each field is the next number that will be used for that module. Using the screenshot above as an example, CJ-2001 was the last converting job created, and the next one will be CJ-2002. If you choose to change the numbers, you are defining the starting number for that module. Only numbers can be used for your document numbers.
