Setting up QuickBooks Desktop Integration
cieTrade.net's integration with QuickBooks Desktop is not seamless; it is a series of downloading IIF files from cieTrade.net and uploading them to your QuickBooks account.
Please note: the Support Team recommends that you meet with them before turning on the accounting link, to go over the accounting model.
The following help file will walk you through:
- Turning on the QuickBooks Desktop accounting link
- Syncing your Counterparties to QB
Step 1: turning on the accounting link
Go to Settings > Integration > in the Accounting System drop-down, select 'QuickBooks Desktop' . Click Save.
Step 2: syncing your Counterparties to QB
1) Create your Counterparty or Upload your Counterparties to cieTrade. For more help, click here.
2) Navigate to Accounting tab > Transaction Manager. In the Item Type drop-down, select either 'Customers' or 'Vendors'.
Please note: If you Counterparty is NOT listed, go back to the Counterparty you just created and try resaving it.
3) Click ' Export'. This will download an IIF file.
4) DO NOT open the download file, as this will prompt an error. Instead, click Save or right-click on the download and click 'Show in Folder' to view the location where the file was saved. Record where the file was saved.
5) In your QuickBooks account, go to File > Utilities > Import > IIF File.
6) Look up and select the saved IIF file. You should receive the following import confirmation from QuickBooks:
Please note: If you have a Counterparty listed as a Customer and Vendor, you will need to download two separate files. One will be labeled 'Customers.iif' and the other will be labeled 'Suppliers.iif'.
