Why Am I Getting an Error When Posting to QuickBooks (QBO)?

Overview
If you receive an error when posting transactions (such as cash receipts) to QuickBooks, it is typically due to the integration connection being disconnected.

How to Reconnect to QuickBooks

First Disconnect:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Integration.
  2. Click Disconnect on the right side.

Then Reconnect:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Integration.
  2. Select QuickBooks from the Accounting Integration dropdown.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. You will be directed to the Departments page.
  5. Click Connect to Accounting.
  6. Follow the prompts to authorize the connection in QuickBooks.

Confirm the Connection

  1. From the Departments page, click Test Accounting Connection.
  2. Ensure the test is successful before proceeding.
  • When reconnecting, you must be logged into QuickBooks with admin credentials.
  • A disconnected integration will prevent transactions from posting successfully.
  • Reconnecting restores the link between cieTrade and QuickBooks.
