Connection Error Warning

Why am I receiving this warning?

If you receive this warning, it means you have been disconnected from your accounting system and need to reconnect. Specifically it means that your accounting integration is currently set to NONE.

Who will receive this warning?

This warning message will be triggered when a user tries to post across to accounting, but the accounting connection has been set to NONE.

If you are linked to QuickBooks Online or Xero, this check is looking at the current token and if you have historically been connected to these accounting systems. If you historically have been connected, but are not currently, you will get this warning.

If you use a batch accounting system, such as QuickBooks Desktop or a custom batch API, this check is looking at the current integration setting and if you have historically used the transaction manager. If your integration is set to NONE, then you will get this warning.

How to Reconnect to Accounting?

Reconnecting to QuickBooks Online:

Go to Settings > Integration. Select your accounting system and click "Connect". If the name of the accounting system is showing, but you are receiving this message, please click disconnect and then the correct accounting system. This will reset the page.

If you are linking to QBO or Xero, this should take you to the Departments page. Click "Connect to Accounting". This should prompt you to sign into your  account. Once you sign in, it will take you back to cieTrade. You are now connected to accounting. If you ever want to check if you are connected, you can go to the Departments page and click "Test Accounting Connection".

Please note: If multiple users are logged in at the same time, receiving this error and one user reconnects to accounting, the other users will need to log off and log back in for the token to be refreshed for the database. Otherwise it will only be established for the one user that reconnected. This is because token authentication is a database wide system setting.
