Release Management
The Release Management module allows users to create and manage internal or external 'releases'. Users can create a block of 'releases'. Assign them to an existing Order (or contract). Then edit them en masse at a later time to create a transactional event (Shipping or Receiving Ticket).
Set up:
There are two modes the Release Management can be used in. The first is Receiving Releases (Supplier) mode. This mode is for companies who are receiving tickets or 'releases' from a company that you will fulfil. The second is Issuing Releases (Mill) mode. This is for companies who are creating and sending out release blocks, in which other companies will fulfill. To enable the Release Management, and choose the mode, follow the steps below.
- Navigate to Settings > Preferences > System Options.
- Enable the setting for Use Release Management.
- Within the Release Management Mode field (located directly below the setting), select the Mode that applies.
Information:
Once enabled, you will now be able to find the Release Management module/tab on the main left hand menu.
Inquiry Page:
The Release Management page is where you can view and manage all of your existing releases. The inquiry is a great tool that you can use to leverage all of the information of your releases. There are a handful of filters you can use to further segment the results, such as but not limited to, Date, Supplier, and Product. The order of the columns can be reorganized to best suit how you are using it. If addition, the inquiry can be exported. This can be achieved my using the Export As or Customize buttons located next to the Go button.
Generate Releases:
To generate a block of releases, use the Generate button and a popup will appear with the form (located next to the Export As and Go buttons). Fill out the applicable information. Once finished, click the Generate button to have cieTrade automatically create the block based on the information entered.

The first step is to generate a block of releases.

NOTE: In order to generate a block of releases, you must have an existing Purchase or Sales Order (representing the agreed upon products, price and weight) to link to.
Bulk Edit
After a release (or more) have been created, some of the information may change. You can easily update one or more releases by checking off the ones who need the amendment, and then click Bulk Edit. A popup will appear resembling the generate release form. Check off the fields that are being updated. Make the needed amendments. Once finished, click Save.
If needed, you can use the arrows to navigate up and down the list of releases on the inquiry, and update the details as needed.
- The downward arrow will move you to the next number in the sequence.
- The upward arrow will move you to the previous number in the sequence.
Create Shipment
After a release (or more) have been created, it may be time to turn the release(s) into a real transactional event (Receiving or Shipping Ticket). To do so, check off the applicable release(s) and click the Create Shipment button that appears at the top. Confirm the information and click Create.
Delete Releases
To delete one or more releases, check off the release(s) you wish to remove. Once checked, a "Delete" button will appear at the top. Click Delete to remove the releases.
