Using the Converting Job

The Converting Job is designed for the warehouse users to track input and output, print barcode labels, and communicate inventory levels to the back office. The converting job allows recycling plants on our bulk non-perpetual inventory model to track daily production runs on in house equipment, such as a baler. It allows several input grades to be allocated on a percentage basis to a single output grade, while also allowing mangers to easily view productivity by equipment or output.

Getting Started

1. Click +New Converting Job.

2. To create a new Converting Job, enter the information on the below screen. The Warehouse, Job Date, Operator, and Output UOM will default to the User.

There are 2 ways to input material:

3. You can scan a barcode or enter a serial number.

NOTE: to switch to Serial number lookup, click on the downward carrot by Barcode Number

4. If you are pulling a Bulk grade, you can choose the grade/product and then enter the quantity you want to use.

5. Once you have chosen the Input material, click Save

To create the Output material:

1. Select the Grade/Product, Packaging type, and other applicable fields. To enter multiple items, click ' Save & New' to clear out only the weight and serial number fields.

2. You can either print the individual barcode labels or wait until you have saved the entire converting job to print all of the barcode labels at once.

3. The Waste weight will also calculate by subtracting the output from the input total. The system will allow you to create more output than input.

To end the Job:

1. Change the status to Completed. This will automatically record the finished date and time

2. Click the x to exit to the Schedule or Converting Job screen.

NOTE: this will remain in Work status (and therefore will not be counted as inventory) until it is has been moved to POSTED on the Converting Job.
